Will this work with the original Energy Square (not the 2.4)?

No, this remote is specific to the Energy Square 2.4. The original Energy Square uses a different remote and is not cross-compatible.

Does the remote come with a battery?

A coin-cell battery is not always included. Standard coin-cell batteries are widely available at supermarkets and electronics shops.

Do I need this if I already have the original remote?

Not necessarily: but a spare remote is useful if the original is lost or damaged, or if you simply want a second remote to keep in another room or travel bag.

The TrueDark Truelight Energy Square 2.4 Replacement Remote is the official spare remote for the Energy Square 2.4 LED light therapy panel. It controls mode selection (steady or pulsating), wavelength selection (Red, Deep Red, Yellow, Near-Infrared) and timer functions, allowing you to operate your panel from a comfortable position during a session without having to reach for the device itself.

Replacement remotes are useful for several reasons. Remotes go missing, slipping under sofa cushions, into drawers, or simply walking off in busy households. Buttons wear with daily use. And many users buy a second remote to keep one in their main treatment space and another in a travel bag for use when away from home.
