What is the difference between the Taylor Black and Tortoise frames?

The lens technology is identical, both use ClearBlue lenses filtering approximately 50% of blue light at 455nm. The difference is the frame: Taylor Black is an angular matte-black acetate, the Tortoise is a softer, rounded tortoiseshell silhouette. It is purely a style choice.

Will these distort my screen colours?

The ScreenTime Tortoise glasses bring the same daytime blue-light filtering technology as the rest of the BlockBlueLight ScreenTime range, in a warmer, softer frame style. The classic tortoiseshell acetate finish suits a wider range of face shapes and dress codes than the angular Taylor Black, and the rounded silhouette has a particular following amongst those who prefer a more traditional eyewear aesthetic.

What matters most, of course, is what's happening in the lenses themselves. BlockBlueLight's ClearBlue technology filters approximately 50% of blue light across the entire 400 to 500nm spectrum, with particular focus on 455nm, the most energetic wavelength emitted by LEDs and backlit screens. Most clear blue-blocking lenses on the market only filter 15 to 20% of blue light, and only in the lower 400 to 430nm range, leaving the most disruptive wavelength essentially untouched. The ScreenTime range was designed to address that gap.

These are daytime glasses. They preserve the beneficial blue light your brain receives during waking hours, the blue light associated with normal alertness and natural daily rhythms. The aim is not to block all blue light at all times, but to filter the most intense wavelengths emitted by artificial sources while letting natural daylight do what it has always done.
